A Brief History of Airdrie Citizens Advice Bureau
Citizens Advice Bureaux first appeared in 1939 to provide advice and information during the Second World War. After the war, bureaux continued to offer free and independent advice and became an important part of communities across Scotland. There was a Citizens Advice Bureau in Airdrie during the war years, but it ceased operating in the 1950s. The current bureau opened on 15 November 1971. Since then, the bureau has operated from a number of locations, including North Bridge Street and Anderson Street, before moving to its current premises in Graham Street in April 2026.
