If you are contacting Airdrie Citizens Advice Bureau in order to be referred to the foodbank, the Trussell Trust (Airdrie Foodbank) have directed that individuals obtain a referral (at the very latest) the day before the food bank opens. This is to assist with the organisational procedures of the foodbank and is beyond the control of the bureau.

CAB advisers will assess your situation and get any help you need to address issues that may have contributed to your not being able to afford food. NB: individuals must attend the bureau office in person - to receive the appropriate advice prior to the issuing of any voucher for Airdrie Foodbank.  Proof of identification is also required.  If a benefit check is needed, the following information will be required: -

Benefit Check

  • Date of birth
  • Employment status (including whether employed or self-employed)
  • Number of hours worked
  • Gross income from employment for the last tax year – this is April 6 to April 5. A P60 form will show this, or if you're self-employed, last year’s accounts
  • Gross income for this year - bring your payslips or an estimate if you're self-employed
  • All benefit or tax credit award letters
  • Evidence of your child care costs and that the carer is registered with the Care Inspectorate
  • Details of investments and interest payments
  • Rental agreement or current mortgage repayment
  • Your most recent council tax bill.
